ABOUT DR. MAYBERRY

In 1974 doctor Mayberry graduated from the University of Richmond, Virginia where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology. In the fall of that year, he was accepted into the Dental School of the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University. He graduated from dental school in 1978. Upon completing his graduation requirements a semester ahead of his classmates he began his private practice with a commitment to continuing his dental education.

Continuing education has been an ongoing endeavor for Dr. Mayberry. Since his graduation from dental school he has taken over 700 hours of continuing education including; periodontics, prosthodontics, orthodontics, dental implantology, oral surgery, cosmetic dentistry, computerized dentistry, etc. Dr. Mayberry was one of the first dentists in the Washington region to integrate CEREC computer technology into his practice in 1997. He has designed and placed over 1000 CEREC computer generated CAD/CAM all ceramic dental restorations since 1997. Dr. Mayberry is licensed to practice dentistry in Virginia., Maryland, and Utah. He is a member of the Northern Virginia Dental Society, the Virginia Dental Association, the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology,. The doctor is licensed to provide intravenous sedation; he has been using this technique successfully since 1978 for all types of dental procedures to ensure patient comfort.

Dr. Mayberry is a Board Certified Oral Implantologist ; in 1997 he was certified by rigorous examination and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry. The doctor routinely provides both surgical and restorative dental implant treatments.

In 1993 Dr. Mayberry was listed in Who's Who of the Mid-Atlantic States and Who's Who in Implant Dentistry. Dental implantology is the area in which the doctor has spent most of his time in postgraduate study, achieving Fellowship status in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Mayberry attended the Scripps Dental Implant Education and Research Center residency program in La Jolla, California. He is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and a member of the Academy of Osseointegration.

Dr. Mayberry was a member of the United States Army 101st Airborne Division. He served in the Republic of Vietnam as an Airborne Ranger in a long range patrol team, 1967-69. He has three children, Christopher, Matthew and Lauren, and two grandchildren, Zane, and Cariss.
